Of course, the brand name caught my eye the moment it came up in my FYP on TikTok - New Plate, Who Dish? I mean, come on. Brilliant! So I began to follow Lauren, the Wisconsin-based designer behind the concept of taking vintage dishes, plates, and flatware and reworking it all into beautiful jewelry.
When I first reached out to her to see if she was interested in selling to me, she balked. I mean, who was I? But I chipped away as my social audience grew. She finally accepted an invite to join the Membery collective's monthly video calls. Eureka! Just imagine if we met in person? Someday...
What I love so much about this capsule is this: Lauren was wondering what to do with her growing pile of fork tines. She had been creating rings and bracelet from the vintage flatware handles, but as a result she was stockpiling tines, spoon heads, and knives. So she began to hammer out the tines and voila, these beauties emerged. I mean, this is the definition of upcycled fashion. Brava, Lauren! These beauties include tiny feather and faux turquoise charms.
These earrings are 2.5" long, give or take.
